CAMP KI-RO-LI, NAME SELECTED BY BOY SCOUTS

City’s Civic Clubs are Source of Title Chosen.

Camp Ki-Ro-Li is the name definitely chosen for the new Boy Scout camp out of West Monroe. This camp, about 40 acres of woodland, was bought by men of Monroe and West Monroe, most of whom are members of one of the civic clubs, therefore the combination of the names of the clubs, Ki-Ro-Li, has become the name of permanent camp for the scouts.

All those who have visited the camp declare it a most suitable place for both summer and winter camping. There is every species of wild plants, trees, insects and birds that will be studied and protected by the local scouts.

The thing that appeals most to the boy is that the camp grounds are secluded, the nearest house being about two miles away. The road that is now being built leads to the camp but not through it so the local council will be able to govern the amount of traffic into the grounds while the boys are camping.

A meeting of the council will be held tomorrow afternoon at 5 o’clock to complete all plans for the camp which is to begin June 7. The equipment most needed at once will be life boats, life rings, three tents, diving board, tarpaulin for mess hall, finishing of the road and a telephone for use during camping season.
