Mealy Block – 1893

In an earlier post, I told you about E.W. Mealy, Monroe’s first known photographer. The above engraving is the building on South Grand Street where his studio was. If you go down South Grand Street, just past the Austin’s Restaurant building, the above building still stands. Look very closely at the front of the building, and you will see the faded words: “E.W. Mealy Studio”. K.M. Designs Event Styling has their office there now.
