A couple of years ago, I finished transcribing the Worlds Fair edition of the Monroe Evening News, May 13, 1893. There were several very interesting engravings included in the newspaper of local businessmen and buildings. I like this one, because this building is still standing. It is known today as the Austin’s restaurant building,, located at the foot of Endom bridge. It still retains much of the original architecture!
