100 Block of DeSiard Street Circa 1930’s

This week, I will share a couple of photos from ULM’s Griffin Photograph Collection I found on the Louisiana Digital Library.

The Griffin photographer was standing near the intersection of DeSiard and Grand streets shooting up DeSiard. On the right is the Hipp Marks Building, which is now the site of Bry park (the fountain). It began as Breard Mercantile Building. Further down is the ONB building, now Vantage. Across the street is the Bernhardt Building, now called 141 Lofts. All those building up to the Bernhardt building, and up to the Vantage building are gone.
