As a postscript to the post about Father Louis Gergaud I did a few weeks ago, yesterday at a Shreveport press conference, it was announced the five yellow fever priests were declared “Servants of God” by the Vatican. This is the first step to Sainthood, which could take decades. How exciting that Monroe may have a Catholic saint! You can read about it here:
