The above is a postcard I found online showing the dining room of the Palowsky Lounge and Steakhouse. The co-owners were Mr. and Mrs. J.R. “Jimmy” Plaisance and Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Palowsky. You could get a steak or chicken dinner or sit at the bar area and listen to Johnny Ferguson play on the Hammond Organ. It didn’t last very long from it’s grand opening in 1955. By late 1959, it reopened as the much better known Embers. If I have my addresses correct, it was just down from the McDonald’s in Lakeshore before the Hwy. 80 overpass.
