Just a little update and some juicy info I found!
We hope the library computers and phones will be up next week sometime, but nothing is definite. What is definite, we will have to close the libraries in order to process and shelve all the books that have been checked out since the malware attack in April! While going through the microfilm of the Monroe News Leader, I saw this ad in 1971. Articles at the time stated over 6,000 people came to the Civic Center to see Michael Jackson and his brothers perform! Guess who were their opening act? The Commodores! Lionel Ritchie and Michael Jackson on the same stage in little old Monroe! WOW!
