This is a great little history book, done in 1942, that gives a short history of the parish along with some statistics and a list of every Parish and City agency’s records and where they could be found. Some of the records I SO wish I could get my hands on and look at! I know some have disappeared (Stolen or thrown away) over the years and some have now become private. It would be interesting to see what is still available!
Of particular interest is the Ward map and the map of each floor of the courthouse. You can see the racial segregation labels of the bathrooms and such. We do have this book in hard copy kept in Special Collections.
