The above photo appeared in a 1907 Shreveport newspaper. I think the building on the right is next to 3rd street and the empty lot is where the Sugar/Saenger/Paramont theater would eventually be built.

Saenger Theater circa 1920. Many long - time residents of Northeast Louisiana have fond remembrances of the old Paramount Theater building, once located at 301 DeSiard Street. The building started life back in 1912 as the second Sugar Brothers Opera House. Brothers Barney, Sam and Isador Sugar built it.
