In the past, I have told you about the Chronicling America site, which has newspapers digitized from the 1800s. The Louisiana Digital Library, in cooperation with LSU, is now digitizing state newspapers and has them organized by parish! Here is a link to Ouachita Parish’s: https://louisianadigitallibrary.org/islandora/object/louisiananewspapers-ouachita:collection.
Right now, the Ouachita Citizen is digitized and searchable from 2011 – present and the Ouachita Register has a handful from the 1850s. To see the other parishes, go here: https://louisianadigitallibrary.org/louisiananewspapers .
If you are willing to shell out the money, paid databases such as newspapers.com have been uploading more Ouachita Parish content. For example, the Ouachita Citizen is now digitized there from 1925 – 1976! They are also working on uploading the Monroe Free Press and the Monroe Dispatch.
