Fighting Men of Louisiana Index

After WWII, a vanity print book was published, highlighting some of the soldiers who had served in that war from Louisiana. It was called “The Fighting Men of Louisiana”. It included a biography of the soldier along with a photo. Several different editions were published, each highlighting a section of the state. The Ouachita Parish Public Library’s Genealogy Department has one edition. In 2001, an employee of the Genealogy Department, Mr. Ronnie Harrison, Sr. set out to index the volume. He documented the names of 2,321 soldiers profiled in the book.

Here is another version that seems to be different. Maybe it’s for a different edition. This one has my Dad and his brothers and the other did not.

Yes, there were about three or four different versions printed for Louisiana, each roughly covering a different part of the state. The State Archives in Baton Rouge tried to document them all a few years ago.

Is there a digital copy of the entire book?
