While visiting Antique Alley, I happened to go into the public bathroom in the old Union Oil Mill building. Hanging on the wall of the foyer were several historic photographs of West Monroe, including these two.

Please excuse the photo quality. I was using my phone and trying to get at an angle where there wasn’t a glare on the glass!
Joseph Perry Crosley and Martha Head Crosley owned Cottonport plantation, which stretched from the town of Trenton to Lazarre Point. Their son-in-law, Captain L.D. McLain, began the Union Oil Mill on part of their old property. The Crosleys are a very old and very prominent name in West Monroe’s history.
What is currently in that building?

Private Apartments mostly. I think Arco Builders is next to the public restrooms and of course at the very end is the Italian restaurant Luna Piena.
