Kern’s Kiddie Land

My generation had Howard Griffin Land O’ Toys, but previous generations remember Kern’s Kiddie Land.

1956 ad.

My boss has found a transcript of an interview with Joseph Kern, owner and founder of Kern’s Kiddie Land. It will probably be included in our online files in the future. He describes the businesses that were in downtown Monroe when he was a kid in the early part of the last century. Quite a fascinating read!

  1. I loved going into Kern’s and my sister and I had baby dolls that were bought there. But I don’t remember it on 4th Street, we went in the mid 60s when it was at the corner of Roselawn and 19th.
