Did you know the Rendezvous Restaurant (now Catfish Cabin) was the first area eatery to offer corn dogs back in October 26, 1940? Yep! 80 Years ago today! While trying to figure out when the Rendezvous was established, I found this little gem in the News-Star! If you wanna know, the grand opening was December 20, 1939 and all profits went to Goodfellows. The last ads I see for it were in February of 1971 and in May, 1972 it opened again as Catfish Cabin. That means the building is around 81 years old!
