Yesterday’s post got me thinking about another photo I posted in the past, but it was taken with my cell phone. It is a photo of Governor Noe escorting a beauty queen at a ball. It is another one that has been digitized into our online collection:

Love the fake beard! BTW, both this one and the one of General Chennault yesterday escorting the same queen were taken inside the Frances Hotel. Just a guess, it was probably held in the top floor ballroom which is no longer there unfortunately.
Another bonus photo is a closeup of Governor Noe’s yacht, Noe’s Ark. This is the same boat the Governor let the XYZ Club use to bring King Zulu to Pine Street to start the Mardi Gras Parade! I wonder if the lady in the center of the photo is Anna Grey Noe herself?
