This is a neat one. On November 30, 1922, local schools, civic groups and other area citizens, banded together to put on a play about the history of Monroe. It was presented in Forsythe Park before thousands as part of a great thanksgiving celebration. The description of it is just incredible! It is too much to summarize, but if you would like to read about it, check out the front page of the November 30th and December 1st News-Star on newspapers.com, through our library’s web page. We have a copy of the program and have it digitized here: https://louisianadigitallibrary.org/islandora/object/oplib-orv%3A19 .
