The above home was built in the 1830’s by Mr. Copley. It is named for the succession of owners it has seen. It is still standing in West Monroe and is one of the oldest private homes in the Parish.

When this home was built it would have been way out of town. Can someone tell me how much land went with the first home?

You would probably have to follow the paper trails at the Ouachita Parish Clerk of Court as to who bought it through the years. I have never seen an exact figure of how much land it started with. The home really wasn’t that far from the town of Trenton. It was just one or two streets over!
