I have told you about Carroll Auditorium at the Monroe Colored High School. It was a stop on the Chitlin’ Circuit back in the days of segregation. Last month, while looking for info on Pierce’s Pharmacy, I found this little ad in the News Star:
It appeared in the January 25, 1948 News Star. WOW! Count Basie performed here! I wish I had found this ad when I was researching for my Chitlin’ Circuit lecture years ago!
