November 25, 1929 ad from the News-Star for J.W. Smith and Associates architectural firm. They are advertising some of the buildings they have designed and built. The High School (now the Grand Plaza), the American Legion building and the Bernhardt building (141 Lofts) are the only ones still standing. What caught my attention is the name at the bottom center, Mr. H.H. Land. Land 3 Architect is the oldest architectural firm in Northeast Louisiana. The firm is currently on the third generation of architects!
