I bought the above postcard, which came up for sale on Ebay, advertised as a postcard from Monroe, LA. As I began to research it, nothing looked right. It says “Monroe, LA”, but the buildings are nothing I recognize. That is not the Monroe City High School. Those church buildings are not right. Then I looked harder at the L in Monroe, La. I looked up other towns of Monroe in the US and there is a Monroe, Iowa. That “La” that the seller and I thought was Louisiana, is actually (I think) “Ia”… Iowa! Always research before you buy and buyer beware!
