Central Station, Monroe Fire Department

A few weeks ago, a patron of the library donated a few photos of the Monroe Fire Department. They were from the collection of her uncle, who was a fireman. Over the next few posts, I will share them with you.

This shows the men of the Central Station fire department, circa 1930’s. All of the men are identified. The central station was on St. John Street, in the middle of the block bounded by Grammont and Wood streets. It was right next to City Hall. The site is a parking lot now.
