I was thumbing through the yellow pages of a May 1973 Monroe telephone book, when this ad for Johnny’s Pizza caught my eye. Johnny’s had just opened a few years ago. As well as pizza, at the time, they also served spaghetti and sandwiches! When I was a kid growing up in Bastrop, I always LOVED the lunch buffet at my local Johnny’s, because they had the most delicious, flaky, buttery ham and cheese bite sized sandwiches I had ever eaten! Notice that there were only two locations at the time.
Mr. Johnny Huntsman was a great man. I met him through my volunteer work with a local charity and he was always gracious and funny!
