Interior of Allen’s Pharmacy, circa 1913

Interesting clipping! This was identified as Allen’s pharmacy, taken sometime between 1910 and 1915. The men were identified: the man behind the soda fountain is William Everett Allen. The man in the foreground is C.R. Russell Sr. The men behind him are Francis Barringer, George Trousdale and Gordon Wright.

The building was sold to John Collins circa 1925. After it was sold in the 40’s it became the Royal Confectionary, which I have posted about before. Allen Sugar Sr. bought it and then when he passed, it was sold to Peacock’s Jewelry. When Peacock’s moved across the street, Zale’s Jewelry moved in. The site was purchased by Sam Rubin in 1975 and he built R&A Jewelers on the site.
