The Construction of the Lea Joyner Bridge

A couple of weeks ago, I was looking around in the Louisiana Digital Library, when I found a couple dozen photographs taken in the early 1930’s of the construction of the Louisville Bridge. I have never seen these before! Apparently, they are owned by the Louisiana State Library. You can see them here: https://www.louisianadigitallibrary.org/islandora/search/Monroe%20Bridge%20Construction%201931?type=edismax&cp=state-lhp%3Acollection .

The most interesting ones to me were the counterweight pit and the Monroe side entrance to the bridge! I also like this one, which shows the West Monroe side of the bridge!
