Among the papers of the Americanus Willis collection were a bunch of receipts from the late 1890’s through the early 1910’s. This is a period of Monroe history we know very little about, since our newspapers are gone from this time period. My boss decided to scan them all and create a database of the images on the Louisiana Digital Library, which went live late yesterday afternoon. There are some really pretty letterheads here! I especially love the Ouachita Valley Bottling Works one! Also included was the letterhead from that Monroe Hotel letter I told you about previously.
