I have told you about our dear friend Charles, who left behind a biography of his early life in the area that would become Sterlington. He was the nephew of John T. Sterling and the son of Robert Harris Sterling, of the Morgan/Morhouse feud fame. The documents he left behind now reside in California, but they were kind enough to send me a digital copy. I have finally gotten around to transcribing his words. Let me warn you. The Google Docs formatting put the footnotes at the very end of the document. There are no paragraphs. Pages are missing. Grammar is horrible. Charles tends to ramble in his recollections. Still, what he left behind is fascinating! Get comfy, because this is quite a read!
