The War Dead of Ouachita Parish

I am not claiming this to be totally accurate by any means. I have compiled this list from many different sources, right or wrong. I just want a good list as a jumping off point for future interested researchers!

What this is, is a list of Ouachita Parish people who gave their lives while defending the United States. We have veterans from the American Revolution and the War of 1812 that settled here, but none to my knowledge who passed away during their war service. I don’t know off hand of any Ouachita parish people who served in the Mexican American War. Most of the WWI deaths were due to the Spanish Flu which was raging at the time.

As an interesting aside, one of our War of 1812 veterans, John Tillman Faulk, had to be carried from the battlefield due to a severe leg wound. He walked with a limp the rest of his life.
